Could use some improvements.Dec 09, 2009 The concept of transferring digital data to an FM reciever is fantastic. It eliminates the clutter and damage to cd's and tapes ( if you still use tapes ) and with even a small Flash drive can store an enormous amount of music. This product is a milestone in simple but effective storage and broadcast technology. I for one am very pleased with it's functionality.
I would recommend a few improvements however. The first would be to boost the signal strength a bit as static and station loss is fairily common. The multiple channel feature helps correct a signal problem which is good but this issue should never arise.
The second would be to have a menu window ( this would require a larger display ) to allow navigation through a vast library of tracks.
And lastly A power off feature so one can shut the system down without losing their current track sequence. Keeping the flash drive installed in the FM device does just that, but removing it from the 12v socket every time you leave your vehicle is undesirable. I would love to see them devise a way the system can "sleep" if the radio is not turned on.
Realizing these additional features would multiply the cost, ( which I felt was plenty fair for what I received ) I still would have paid 3 times my $12.00 for a devise of this nature if it had include these recommendations.
All in all, I'm pretty satisfied thus far.
UPDATE : The unit didn't last long before it stopped working entirely. I was forwarding through the songs and it never played again. Most disappointing !

great productSep 24, 2009 So far so good .works great on noise or static and receiver and transmitter mated up fast together very happy now. Wanted something without ear buds abd dont need to bring a case full of cds with me.
Got to stay up with the jones!!! ahahaahahh
Fair for what it is:Sep 20, 2009 This gadget works fair......has poor sound quality. I suppose I can't expect too good of a sound quality for what I paid. I don't know if the higher priced ones are any better.

Generic transmitter for generic mp3 players.Apr 29, 2009 If you have an iPod, Sansa, or any other popular, name-brand mp3 player, then this probably isn't the transmitter for you. What's good about this transmitter is that it does have decent sound quality, considering its size and the range of FM stations that it broadcasts. It does have a 2.5 mm audio input jack. (It would have been more useful if it were a 3.5 mm audio input jack.)
Pretty much, though, what you see is what you get. Remember that it's for mp3 players, and not for flash drives. Just because you can store mp3 files on a USB flash drive does not mean that it contains the instructions to transmit music through the FM transmitter. All in all, it's not the best and it's not the worst. For the price, if you have one of those no-name mp3 players, this could be what you're looking for. Also, do make sure that you read the instructions and convert mp3 files to the appropriate KHz rating for optimal playback.

FM Radio Modulator Feb 03, 2009 I picked this unit up so the kids could all listen to the DVD player via my vans FM radio system instead of the one with the ear phones on or blasting out the one closest to the player.
Pros
Small and compact.
Easy controls
USB Audio input port. A major point.
Con
None that do not exist with other manufacturer's units based on the same concept.
A 3" wire to connect player to device is provided but in a van you will need longer unless you have a close by power point in the rear somewhere.
The unit worked as advertised. It played the DVD player's audio via my FM radio sound system. The biggest draw back is interference received within the frequency range tuned into at the time. Several frequencies are provided to avoid this interference. If travel is local and one frequency works well that is fine. If traveling over 50 miles there may be a need to shift frequencies to clear the interference. The problem lies in the fact that interference tends to increase over distance from the source. The user is subjected to a degrading signal until it becomes necessary to change frequencies.
The major feature that comes with this unit is the USB Audio port. This unit will broadcast your MP3/WMA music to your FM radio from a thumb drive (flash drive). No need for an MP3 player. Maneuvering between songs is not possible but you can skip songs at will. Load your music on the thumb drive from you computer and insert the drive into the USB Audio port.
