This is a great monitorMar 19, 2010 I took this Panasonic EW31225 to my doctor and it was exactly with the same pressure my doctor got with his manual test. It is quiet and easy to use, but does take a bit to get use to putting the arm band on. It is also hard to plug in the hose in the back of the unit, but that is the only problem I have had with it. I am surprised that they can make such a quality product for such a resonable price.
Panasonic great productMar 03, 2010 Small, easy to use and at a great price too. I love my BP monitor.
Useful, Convenient, Accurate, ReliableMar 02, 2010 Your blood pressure changes a lot from day to day, and even from minute to minute depending on what you're doing. Getting a single reading from your doctor once or twice per year is not sufficient. By having your own blood pressure monitor you can check your blood pressure every week, or every day, or in different situations like in the morning, at night, after eating, after drinking caffeinated beverages, after exercising, etc., and get a much more complete picture. You can learn what fluctuations are normal and you can spot long-term trends. Think of it like owning your own bathroom scale -- do you want to depend on your doctor to tell you your weight once a year, or do want to *know* your weight and regularly monitor how your lifestyle affects it? You should know it yourself -- same with blood pressure.
This particular device is convenient and simple to use. You put the cuff on, press a button, sit still for a minute while it inflates, and look at the results. It gives you the basic information -- systolic, diastolic, pulse -- and a yellow or red warning light goes on if that particular reading indicates pre-hypertension or hypertension.
You can press a button to save the results if you want. There are two such buttons, so two people can share the device and save their results separately. It's easy to view the saved results along with the date and time each reading was taken.
To store the device you just roll up the cuff and put it into its own compartment in the back of the device. There are no extra parts to lose.
This device seems to be accurate. I took mine along on my most recent check-up and its reading was in line with the doctor's readings.
I've had my unit for two years and taken hundreds of readings with it and never had a problem with it. It's still on its first set of 4 AA batteries.
Very Pleased!Feb 08, 2010 I bought this for my partner to monitor his bp. I know what mine consistently has been for years and this monitor tests me in that same range so I feel it's very accurate if used according to the directions. The motion detector is a good feature to assure a correct reading.
Easy to useDec 12, 2009 This product is easy to use which encourages me to use it each day as I had planned. Very good for the price.
