ComplexMar 14, 2010 I bought the 800BT, but it's the same thing. Unless you are a car audio guru you should buy a touch screen. Set up is a pain and the whole 1 knob idea is not the best. Once you get used to it (I'm not) it is probably fine.
It looks pretty nice, but I'll be upgrading to the 4100 or 4200 DVD head unit. The display looks a little 1994 with its jagged lettering.

Hard to handleFeb 27, 2010 this unit is not worth the money...Its hard to navigate threw it and you will never learn how and if you do you will forget, save your money and buy something else...
Blackberry CompatabilityFeb 23, 2010 I couldn't find anyone who had tried to pair this with a Blackberry Tour, so I figured I would let people know here. I can tell you that it pairs perfectly and downloads the address book with no problems. It auto pairs with my Tour every time I get in the car, as well. I haven't tried BT audio streaming yet, but the BT phone works flawlessly.
All I need and works for me.Feb 21, 2010 Pros:
- Plays almost all my mp3 music.
- Fast load.
- Bluetooth finally works with my Nokia E71. It drops the BT connection with out Pioneer firmware. Firmware it is just a jpeg file NOKIA-A.jpg. Not sure how it works, but works. You can download it from Pioneer EU web site.
- Displays Russian tags and phone book!. One of the main reason why I bought it.
- Nice clean interface. Very intuitive. It is hard to find a car player with a normal interface with out junky animation and dozen microscopic buttons.
- Power enought for my 2003 Honda CR-V
- Sony wired Rotary Commander remote works well with this player, but directions Left-Right are opposite and you cannot change it.
- Plug an USB drive and it will start playing right away from last played song.
Cons:
- Display has only bright blue color. Brightnes can be changed from bright to very bright. I wish it was a dark green like old car players. Very anooying.
- Glossy finish as fingerprint magnet.
- Flimsy microphone mount. But mic works great. Sound is clear.
- Came with useless dash panel trim. Some kind of do your self trim. I had to buy another from Metra. Honda has bigger double din opening size. Should fit well in Subaru.
Best Car Receiver Ive ever owned!Feb 18, 2010 The sound from this receiver sounds great. It completely blows away the factory crap that came with my car.
The #1 feature i love about this receiver is the BLUETOOTH AUDIO INTEGRATION.
I have a touch pro 2, with a lot of music on my memory card.
As soon as i step inside the car, the radio AUTO PAIRS TO MY PHONE and then i can start listening to my music from my phone!
This is also great for streaming internet radio from my phone via bluetooth...I NEVER have to listen to regular FM/AM radio again!
Before i have to go through the tedious routine of having to manually pair my phone to in order to listen to music....Needless to say the auto pair feature of this radio blew me away!
The bluetooth audio sounds great and clear. And on top of that i can also make/receive calls while the phone is paired to the radio.
Another feature i like about this receiver is that you can tweak the audio settings down to the equalizer frequency. Theres just not enough i can say about this receiver, it was definitely worth the purchase and i would recommend this to anyone who enjoys the ability to stream bluetooth audio.
