From 6:40am to now as I am drinking it at 4:10pm (I drink my coffee super slow I know), this mug has kept my coffee HOT! It's spillproof, plus the sipper has a small hole from which the coffee comes out of, and so if you tilt it to drink it, you can blow on your hot coffee first before sipping (the liquid sits in the "well" so to say if you pour it out little by little). I love my sigg thermoses because they keep my coffee just as hot for just as long, but drinking it is a pain because if it's too hot you'll either burn your mouth or spill it all over yourself on the commute (I take a subway and bus) as a result of it's huge mouth/opening. It's an easy press of the button to pop the top of this one open too (compared to having to completely unscrew the top of the Sigg thermos) which makes it super easy to drink anytime. I highly recommend this thermos! In fact i'm going to buy another one soon...

This mug is perfect. Even with the lid open it keeps coffee hot to warm all day. Easy to drink from and no drips. I purchased a second for myself and one for each of my two sons. every one loves them.

This travel mug was everything that I was looking for. I was looking for something I could put coffee in and throw in my bag during my bicycle commute to work. I also wanted a mug that I could keep in my bag so I would always have a reusable container to use at cafes. This is the mug! If you don't fill it too high, you never have to worry about it leaking. It is super convenient to sip from and close back up. And the liquids stay super hot for hours. This is the ideal mug. Nothing compares.

Best mug I've ever had. Keeps things hot all day (especially if you pre-heat it with hot water). It is super watertight and I haven't had any unanticipated spills. Bought one for a friend and they feel the same way. Threw out all my other sub-standard containers.

My best Amazon purchase is the 18-oz Thermos hydration water bottle, and this is my second favorite! If you are looking for a decent-sized leakproof Thermos that keeps liquids hot-to-warm for 5-8 hours, stop here now. I was daunted by the pictures that accompany this product and hesitated buying this Thermos at all because the top appeared bulky and unwieldy - but I am so glad I made the purchase. Mine does not tip over.
Lid: Because the Thermos is so effective at keeping hot liquids hot, I like the white lip with the recessed hole, which allows me to slowly tip the Thermos to drink my coffee so that I can gauge the temperature and decide whether to gulp or sip. The lid has a locking mechanism that prevents it from hitting my face when I pour to drink. Unlike the Contigo or Oxo coffee mugs for which I wasted too much money, this cup and lid is pretty easy to clean, and the black silicone that's underneath the lid (which keeps the lip of the stainless steel thermos from leaking) is removable so you can clean to your heart's content.
I have used this mug for several months now with no complaints. I use a bottle brush (found in baby section) to wash the Thermos and the top. I once forgot to wash my latte one night and thought the smell of sour milk would permeate and remain, but removing the black silicone ring and soaking the top with hot water solved everything.
Although the mug advertises 16-oz, you probably can put in around 14 oz or so, as you can't fill it all the way to the top of the Thermos to allow the lid to screw on without leaking. No biggie for me.
For those looking for something smaller, Thermos sells the 12-oz leakprook tea infuser that can also be used for coffee if you don't use the tea strainer. That one doesn't have the one-hand, pop-open lid action and requires you to screw/unscrew the top, which may get annoying (but there are advantages to the smaller size).
For the few times that I go to Starbucks to buy a decadent Caramel Machiatto or my favorite White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha, Starbucks will take 10-cents off for bringing in a reusable cup such as this.
